Here, you’ll find answers to help you and your animal companion feel supported every step of the way.
What’s included in the Rest, Shared kit?
Each kit includes two products designed to be used together: The First Touch (100 ml body oil for humans) and The Second Half (50 ml companion mist for pets). Together, they create a shared ritual for calm, connection, and co-regulation.
How do I use the kit with my pet?
Massage The First Touch into damp skin with slow, intentional strokes and allow it to absorb fully. Mist The Second Half into your hands. As it settles, move into gentle, unhurried touch.
Your softening becomes theirs, creating a loop of calm.
How often should we do the ritual?
As often as it feels right. Some make it a nightly practice before bed, while others return to it after work, travel, or overstimulation. Think of it not as something to schedule, but something that’s always waiting for you.
How long does one kit last?
With daily use, one kit lasts about 4–6 weeks.
Can The Second Half be used beyond pet care?
Yes. It doubles as a facial mist, body mist before applying The First Touch, or room refresher. Think of it as a portable reset: an energetic pick-me-up that restores softness throughout the day.
Do I need to use both products together?
We recommend it. Each formula is designed as one half of the ritual: The First Touch grounds you and The Second Half helps your companion regulate in response. Together, they complete the circle of calm.
What is Abhyanga, and how does it relate to The First Touch?
Abhyanga is an ancient Ayurvedic practice of self-massage, using warm oil to ground the body, calm the nervous system, and support circulation. The First Touch draws inspiration from this tradition, translating its intention into a modern sensory ritual. Like Abhyanga, it’s less about beauty or performance, and more about reminding the body it belongs to you.
Do the products contain essential oils?
The First Touch contains very low, carefully chosen amounts to support a calming, sensory experience for humans. The Second Half is entirely essential oil–free and crafted with gentle ingredients for close, shared use with your pet.
Is this safe for cats?
Yes. Our formulas are developed with cats in mind, using gentle ingredients and avoiding sharp, high-intensity aromatics.
How do I introduce my pet to the ritual safely?
Start slowly. Mist into your hands and allow your companion to approach you. Move into gentle touch and let them set the pace. Over time, they’ll begin to associate the ritual with calm and connection.
Can puppies or senior dogs use this?
Yes. Both formulas are gentle enough for all life stages. Observe how your companion responds and adjust frequency as needed.
Did a veterinarian or pet practitioner review these formulas?
Yes. Each product was reviewed by a veterinary toxicologist and developed in partnership with a pet herbalist to ensure safety for dogs and cats.
Can I use the human oil on my dog (or vice versa)?
The First Touch is formulated for human skin only while The Second Half is designed for human and pet use.
Is The Second Half mist safe to spray directly on my pet?
The mist is designed for close, shared use. For the most gentle and controlled experience, we recommend misting into your hands first, then moving into touch. Avoid eyes, nose, and mouth.
What if my pet doesn’t like mist or has sensitivities?
Every animal has their own comfort zone. If your companion prefers a softer experience, simply mist onto yourself, allow it to settle, then move into gentle touch. Your presence alone carries the ritual.
Some pets may show mild sensitivity, such as sneezing, skin irritation, or digestive upset, with exposure to any product. We recommend a small patch-test on your own skin first. If a reaction occurs, discontinue use and consult your veterinarian. If your pet has underlying respiratory conditions (such as feline asthma), consult your veterinarian before use.
Do you use essential oils?
Only when safe and emotionally beneficial. Essential oils can be overstimulating for both pets and humans in states of stress. We use them in microdoses and rely primarily on slow-heat herbal infusions, hydrosols, and flower essences that calm rather than overwhelm.
What are flower essences?
Flower essences are subtle plant extracts that work through energy, not scent. They help support emotional shifts and nervous system regulation with remarkable gentleness.
In Baund products, they anchor each ritual in softness, safety, and connection.
Are Baund products vegan and cruelty-free?
Yes, always. Our formulas are vegan, cruelty-free, and never tested on animals (other than our own very willing ones). Compassion is the root of everything we create.
Where do you source your ingredients?
All products are made in the U.S. using botanicals sourced from trusted partners who share our commitment to safety, sustainability, and integrity. Each ingredient is chosen not for its trendiness, but for the benefits it provides our customers.
Where do you ship?
We plan to ship across the U.S.
